Mortised latch or Drive in Latch?

Which do you need?

A mortised latch has a recessed plate at the edge of the door that is screwed in place. The edge of your door needs to be routed or chiseled out to accept this plate. it may be square cornered or radius cornered. Bravura sends both a square corner plate and a radius corner plate with each lock.

Mortised Latch

A drive In Latch has no trim plate and goes in to a 1" round hole in the edge of the door. No special prep is needed. If you have a door with just the round hole in the edge you can convert it to a mortised latch by chiseling out the edge of the door to accept the plate if you desire.
